In the course of the last weeks of the term in July 2019, the advanced English class (8a and 8b, Beck) dealt with the topic eco-friendly living. The pupils themselves thought about interesting projects they could work on. Some of them focused on the idea of a green city in which as little waste as possible is produced and in which there is no space for pollution or the endangerment of animals. Others researched on plastic and in how far it pollutes the environment and becomes a threat for the flora and fauna.
The pupils chose their topic of interest and presented them in various ways, from PowerPoint presentations to objects and drawings.
Alina, Josie, Jocelyn and Chiara presented the “recycle- town”. The people who live there recycle everything. In their town there is a giant statue of a flower. All the people are nice to each other and everyone knows everyone. If people in the town don’t recycle, they have to move out. The animals that live in this town are all happy and all of them are healthy. No animals are hurt because the people lead a vegan lifestyle.
“We thought it would be a good idea to build the town in a plastic bottle, because it shows how the world could be without plastic and the irony is that the perfect town is presented in a plastic bottle.”
Nachhaltiges Leben
Während der letzten Schulwochen im Juli 2019 beschäftigte sich der Englisch E-Kurs der Klassen 8a und 8b mit dem Thema nachhaltiges Leben. Die Schüler haben sich eigenständig interessante Projekte überlegt, an denen sie arbeiteten. Einige arbeiteten zum Thema „grüne Stadt“, in der so wenig Müll wie möglich produziert wird und in der es keinen Platz für Umweltverschmutzung und die Gefährdung von Tieren gibt. Andere recherchierten über das Thema „Plastik“ und inwiefern es die Umwelt verschmutzt und somit eine Bedrohung für die Flora und Fauna wird.
Die Schülerinnen und Schüler präsentierten ihre Projekte auf verschiedene Art und Weise: Von der Powerpoint-Präsentation bis hin zu Objekten und Zeichnungen.
Alina, Josie, Jocelyn und Chiara stellten ihre „Recycle- Stadt“ vor. Die Menschen, die dort leben recyceln alles. In ihrer Stadt gibt es eine riesige Statue einer Blume. Alle Menschen sind nett zu einander und jeder kennt jeden. Wenn Bewohner der Stadt nicht recyceln, müssen sie ausziehen. Die Tiere, die dort leben, sind alle glücklich und gesund. Keine Tiere werden verletzt, weil die Menschen vegan leben.
„Wir dachten, dass es eine gute Idee ist, diese Stadt in einer Flasche zu bauen, weil es zeigt, wie die Welt ohne Plastik sein könnte. Die Ironie ist, dass die perfekte Stadt in einer Plastikflasche präsentiert wird.“
